- GWICHANISM
-
귀차니즘(Gwichanism) means being lazy and doing roughly. Usually 귀차니즘people saying “I wanna be just stone and do nothing all my life...” So I did all the work roughly during the workshop. Work, silk screen, photo shoot and catwalk too.
Great workshop with Na Kim.

Utopia in Dystopia
In modern society, too natural things are taboo in North Korea. Drinking, singing, South Korean media, religion, overseas travel, driving, etc. What would it look like if these things were free in North Korea?
Canvas, 200×200mm, 2019
DRIVING
In North Korea, only one high-level official per 100 people is allowed to drive a car. If an ordinary person is caught driving a car, will be executed immediately.
LIQUOR
In North Korea, people can’t drink anywhere and whenever they want. They can only drink during the event or on special occasions and are executed if they violate the law.
RELIGION
The North Korea’s constitution also stipulates religious freedom, but in reality only Buddhism is allowed on a limited basis.
SONG
In North Korea, an individual can never listen to music or sing a song. They can only listen and sing songs designated by North Korea, and if they violate them will be taken to a political prison camp.
WATCHING TV
North Koreans are not allowed to watch other channels other than the national propaganda media. Recently, about 130 North Koreans who watched South Korean broadcasts were executed.
